If the height of people reflected the number of their social connections, somebody as tall as Wadlow would not enter any record book. There would be people hundreds of times taller than the shorter ones: ‘social giants’ more than 2 km tall would walk the streets. Even more interestingly, these giants would not be astounding exceptions in a generally short population. All the intermediate heights between dwarf and giant would be represented by some individuals: naturally, the greater the height, the fewer the people of that height; however, the number of tall people in this imaginary world would not diminish as quickly in terms of height as in the real world. In other words, the taller, the rarer: but not as rare as in the real world.
